Our next 3Ls Social outing will be a visit to the 5-star Devil’s Porridge Museum which commemorates HM Factory Gretna, the largest munitions factory in the world during the First World War and explores the stories of the Solway Military Coast during the Second World War and beyond.
Discover what life was like for soldiers in the World War One trenches and for the thousands of Munitions Girls who flocked to work at HM Factory Gretna. The museum uses artefacts, information panels, film and audio, photographs and oral histories to bring the fascinating history of this Border area to life!
In the afternoon, we will visit Moffat for a two-course lunch at Brodie’s restaurant, with time afterwards for a walk around the town.
