French

The French Club, the longest running of all the 3Ls clubs, provides a relaxed and friendly atmosphere for members to listen to presentations on a variety of topics, current, cultural and linguistic.
Talks are delivered in French by club members, invited speakers and often students from Strathclyde University or a local secondary school and are accessible to all levels of speaker. After each presentation there is the opportunity for members and speakers to socialise over a glass of wine.
We meet on the third Friday of the month from October to April in the Graham Hills building. We also have occasional meetings outside of the programme to have a lunch or see a French film.
Your £10 membership fee for the club also gives you access to the facilities of the Alliance Française and its resources.

We were joined at our December meeting by Joan-Emilie Lefever-Rhodes, French Teaching Associate and three final year University students who entertained us with talks about each of their experiences of living and working in France during their studies. We had a surprise visit from Santa and enjoyed some festive fare and games to celebrate the season!
