Let the Right One In
​
Royal Conservatoire of Scotland performance by 1st year members of the BA Acting Students' cohort.
​
Directed by Finn den Hertog, this is a stage adaptation by Jack Thorne based on the bestselling Swedish novel and award-winning film by John Ajvide Lindqvist. It is described as an enchanting and brutal vampire myth and coming of age love story about a young lonely teenage boy.

Blood Wedding

Royal Conservatoire of Scotland production performed by final year students
A bride promised. A blood vow broken. What's done cannot be undone.
​
This tragedy was written in 1932 by Frederico Garcia Lorca, Spanish playwright, poet and theatre director; it foreshadows the violence that would soon tear his beloved country apart and lead to his own assassination in 1936. It will be performed by final year BA Acting Cohort.

The Sound of Music

Pitlochry Festival Theatre
​
The famous and well-loved musical set in Austria on the eve of WW2 follows the story of a young novice nun whose free spirit encounters challenges fitting in with the regulations of the convent. She leaves to be a governess for the von Trapp family. After her marriage, she and the captain are determined to escape the dangerous situation in their beloved Austria and with the 7 children embark on a treacherous journey over the mountains into Switzerland.

This wonderful production features songs including Maria, My Favourite Things, Edelweiss and Climb Every Mountain.

Obsession. Murder. Cannibalism in Victorian London.
​
This musical thriller is a multi-award-winning masterpiece which is based on the book by Hugh Wheeler, the character originated in the 19thC Penny Dreadful serial String of Pearls and was adapted into a classic musical in 1979 when it appeared on Broadway. It will be performed by final year students and directed by MA Musical Theatre alumnus Aaron Lee Lambert.

Pitlochry Festival Theatre
The new Artistic Director of Pitlochry Theatre, Alan Cumming, has revived Elizabeth Newman's production of The Sound of Music for this year's Winterfest.
Date: Wednesday 19th November 2pm

The performance lasts 2 hours 50 minutes,
including a 20 minute interval.

"The Cosmonaut's Last Message"

A visit to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, to a drama production of " The Cosmonaut's Last Message " by the acclaimed David Greig, one of the best contemporary dramatists who is renowned for "Yellow Moon", "Dunsinane" and "Prudentia Host". This play is both intimate and epic as it explores the incessant search for harmony and peace with us all. It has been described as a hauntingly beautiful play which is based on the book "The Cosmonaut's Last Message to the Woman He Once Loved in the Former Soviet Union”.
"She Loves Me"

This comic musical theatre production at the New Atheneum Theatre, RCS is based on the book by Joe Masteroff and on the 1937 play "Parfumerie" by Miklos Laszio. The plot is set in 1934 and revolves around Budapest shop employees Georg and Amalia who, despite being constantly at odds with each other at work, are unaware that each is the other's secret pen pal met through the lonely hearts club. It was made into a film which featured on Broadway and has since been nominated in numerous categories over the years. The 1994 London revival won the Best Musical Revival Award.
