Call for Participants - Age-friendly Engagement Tools Workshop 23/01/2026

Older people wanted for new age-friendly guide for local councils.

Centre for Ageing Better are working with Involve Foundation to create a set of resources to help councils better include older residents in decision-making – including setting up mechanisms such as older people’s forums and networks. As part of the research for this, they will be running an online workshop to hear about older people’s experiences of engaging with their council. They want to speak to people aged 50+ from a range of backgrounds and experiences of being involved in local council structures – from those who are active members of something like an older people’s forum or residents’ board, to those who would like to be involved in decision-making and have their voice heard by their council but experience barriers in doing so. The only requirements are that you are aged 50 or over and live in the UK, and have an interest in the topic of local decision-making.

The workshop will take place online using Zoom on Friday 23rd January from 09:30-12:30 and you will be offered £75 via bank transfer or voucher for your participation. There are ten places available.

For further information, please see the attached FAQs document, and if you would be interested in attending, please complete this short online form by 9am Friday 16th January:
